Newspaper Blog Notes
BROAD SHEET - tall and skinny
TABLOID - style of the paper. shapes and sizes. short. half the size of a broad sheet.
FOLIO - has reference information.name of the newspaper.
front page elements, flag, photos, headlines, stories, lines.
teasers preview stories on the inside of your newspaper.
BILINE- contains their name, their title.
INFOGRAPHIC - gives you information in a graphic form.
FRONT PAGES OF THE WORLD
) What is your favorite newspaper front page? Why? -
my favorite front page was the Austin american Statesman. Because I live in austin, and these events occurred closest to me.
) What is your favorite headline from that newspaper? Why are you interested in it? -
My favorite article was titled "West Begins to Heal". It caught my attention because the title was written in thick bold letters. But, also because this article is written about the plant explosion in waco. Which i'm interested in learning more about.
) How many stories are on the front page of your favorite? there are sixteen stories.
What do you notice that all newspaper front pages have in common? Look at design, size of photos, size of story text, etc-
all of the titles are written in bolder letters than the actual story. but the sizes of the text is still smaller. yet, the actual body of the stories are smaller making it possible to fit more information in the limited amount of space given.
) What are things that vary (or are different) on the front pages of different newspapers? Look at design, size of photos, size of headlines, etc. everything on the front pages are bigger and he front pages include more photographs. oppose to the insides, where theres more writing and information.
